This 2-for-1 class covers both the ASAR Swiftwater Technician skills and the ASAR Floodwater Boat Operations. In addition to in-person outside field practical's, this training will have a 2-hour virtual classroom prior to meeting in person. Small animal rescue techniques will be the primary focus, with additional discussion about large animal issues and hazards in floodwater.

This 2-for-1 class covers both the ASAR Swiftwater Technician skills and the ASAR Floodwater Boat Operations. In addition to in-person outside field practical's, this training will have a 3-hour virtual classroom prior to field skills. Small animal rescue techniques will be the primary focus, with additional discussion about large animal issues and hazards in floodwater.

Animal Ice Rescue Operations (AIRO) is designed to provide first responders and ASAR specialists self-rescue and team rescue options along with both small and large animal rescue techniques. This training will start with classroom time and introduction to low angle ropes; and then spend the rest of the time on the ice working in all weather conditions.

This customized combination training hits many topics needed for Type 1 ASAR teams. Training is provided through both hands-on and classroom instruction with primarily a small animal focus. Attendees must have working knowledge of low angle ropes, knots, anchors, and mechanical advantage. Instructors will review low angle ropes briefly and then quickly into high angle rope rescue considerations. In addition, we will be adding the ASAR introduction to collapsed structure and confined space into this 6-day training. Participants will need to provide proper PPE for this training.
