ASAR Animal Ice Rescue Operations (AIRO) Training – Detroit, Michigan Jan. 14-15, 2026
Animal Ice Rescue Operations (AIRO) is designed to provide first responders and ASAR specialists self-rescue and team rescue options along with both small and large animal rescue techniques. This training will start with classroom time and introduction to low angle ropes; and then spend the rest of the time on the ice working in all weather conditions.

This training is provided through both hands-on and classroom instruction. This class covers ASAR Swiftwater rescue skills. Small animal rescue techniques will be the primary focus, with additional discussion about large animal issues and hazards in floodwater.
