Description
Incidents that involve animals trapped in Flood and Swiftwater require special considerations and knowledge. This 4-day training is provided through both hands-on and classroom instruction. This class covers both the ASAR Swiftwater Technician skills Floodwater Boat Operations skills; and will include both dryland and water practical’s. Small animal rescue techniques will be the primary focus, with additional discussion about large animal issues and hazards in floodwater. Participants need to have the ability to swim in moving water conditions. Note there is a mandatory virtual classroom on July 24th, 2024 from 11am - 1pm central time. Class check-in for field work will start at 7:30am on July 29th, 2024 near the Riversport location. Additonal details will be given a week prior to training.
