Description

Incidents that involve animals trapped in ice require special considerations and knowledge. This training is provided through both hands-on and classroom instruction. Animal Ice Rescue Operations (AIRO) is designed to provide first responders and ASAR specialists self-rescue and team rescue options along with both small and large animal rescue techniques. This training will start with classroom time and introduction to low angle ropes; and then spend the rest of the time on the ice working in all weather conditions. Participants will need to provide proper PPE or there are rental options for drysuits, Class V PFDs and helmets.
